Program Length and Number of Positions
This is a 24-month program commencing July 1 of each year. A maximum of seven positions are available each year.

Hospital-based postgraduate program with an MSD degree.

Description
The majority of the clinical program occurs at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children although some clinical training occurs at other University Hospitals and at the School of Dentistry. Each trainee who successfully completes the two-year program receives a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Science in Dentistry degree, and meets all educational requirements for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry examination.
Curriculum
Didactic courses are offered in both the dental school and the hospital settings. The training program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Successful candidates will complete both the MSD and Certificate requirements during the two-year training program.
Program Stipend and Tuition
Annual stipends for 2014-15 are: $52,464 PGY1
$53,822 PGY2
Graduate school tuition is approximately $31,000 per year and instruments, books and clinic expenses approximately $1500 the first year and $300 second year.

Admission Requirements
Applicant must hold a DDS or DMD degree (or in the process of earning either of these degrees) from a dental school accredited by the American Dental Association or the Canadian Dental Association.
- Dental education transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation (includes one from dental school dean)
- Personal interview.
